Mexican Days..

When you think of Mexico, you think of the city of mysteries. It’s full of color, magic, and tacos. Maybe having my first trip to Ensenada on Thanksgiving week was the great excuse to explore more in detail that magic area of Baja California, Mexico.

I admit I had some expectations based on the past times I visited Rosarito since they are close to each other. This little touristic town as locals describes it has way more than just small streets and awesome seafood. Ensenada is also associated with the vineyards in Valle of Guadalupe, or also called “North of France in Mexico.”

img_6672I’m here today to tell you about those places that you might have or not hear about it. As a foodie lover want to show you the cool spots we found and for a great price (yea, eating is cheaper in Mexico if you also might have or never heard of that) our trip started with our first stop for lunch in Puerto de la Boca, Rosarito. This mini area full of restaurants and little stores by the beach, not only combines the best ocean view, but also one of the best seafood meals. By that I mean you can have both things at an affordable price (a.k.a college budget), and I don’t think you can ask for anything else. Or maybe you do, if all you want to add to this combo are cheap margaritas and lobster. At that point, I think you are fulfilling that “Mexican life”.

IMG_6957.JPGI’m sure the pictures can’t fool you about that, and this is just the beginning. Some of the places we had dinner were at the center of the city, like Papas & Beer, famous for its nightclub.

img_6878Moving on to “DIA 2”, started with a morning walk to La Hermosa Beach. The pictures speak for themselves when it comes to the breathtaking view.

The best is yet to come!

I wanted to find an outlet to share “stuff”. Sure, stuff like an exchange student in her senior year still facing cultural shock in the U.S. Don’t worry, I’m not here to bore you with another cliche story. I will most likely write when I feel like it and tell you about places, cities, people, culture and food you might know about it, or maybe not. But, people nowadays just feel there’s “too much” going on in their lives to waste their time looking at someone else’s life. So, if you are still reading this it’s because you want to know what’s  all about that “the best is yet to come”.

Let me start clarifying that this space is not about my life. I want to be that “outlet” to share about California at its finest. Of course, from a multicultural perspective of this one girl’s journey from Colombia who will take you to live realities, memories and “Aha” moments. Yes, I’m from Colombia and it’s not Columbia. So, let’s begin!

Over the past 5 years, I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy the beauties of California starting in Santa Barbara, the beautiful American Riviera to current Sunny San Diego. Let me tell you it’s been the greatest adventure. Yet, homimg_5830e is where one starts and Colombia is that place I still call “home”. So, I want to welcome you’all to enjoy all the cool “stuff” of both of these worlds!

-Love,

Maria!
